To view Aldiya in performance visit RATES: *PRIVATE FUNCTIONS within Edmonton (weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate/cultural events): $175-$200 for a 20-25 minute Belly Dance performance - SORRY, NO BACHELOR PARTIES *BELLY DANCE WORKSHOPS: $175 for a 1 hour workshop > if workshop includes a belly dance performance, the performance fee is charged in addition to the workshop fee (a short demo of a 3 to 4 minutes in dancewear does not apply) > if a studio must be rented for the workshop, the studio fee is charged in addition to the workshop fee. ABOUT THE PERFORMER: Since Aldiya took her first belly dance class she fell head over heels in love and hasn't looked back. It has enabled her to combine her love of arts with her degree in Anthropology and her passion for human culture. She draws on her AFLCA (Alberta Fitness Leadership) training and her studies in human osteology (as part of the Anthropology program) for her knowledge of human anatomy, and has completed Belly Dance teacher training programs with both Hadia and Venus. She studied Arabic rhythms, scales and drumming with Dr. Michael Frishkopf of the University of Alberta Ethnomusicology Department. Aldiya has travelled to Egypt and Turkey to experience the culture and dance and hopes to do more traveling in the future. She completed her Zumba certification with umba Education Specialist Robyn Homes. Highlights of her dance life include an impromptu Belly Dance performance with the Istanbul Oriental Ensemble at the Winspear Centre and performing with Vinok Worldance to a standing ovation at the Jubilee Auditorium.
