Introduction
BellyslapPerformance Group from: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (available for travel) We are Bellyslap, a 6-piece drum ensemble specialising in Middle-Eastern (ME) rhythms. We are based in Melbourne, Australia. Our aim is to provide bellydancers with the opportunity to dance to live drumming, and for the audience to "visualise the rhythms" they are listening to. CD tracks are so passe! We play a variety of ME and world percussion instruments, including the darabuka (tabla), req, persian daf, tar, zils, jembe, dun-duns, davul and tasha drum. Our favourite gigs are at bellydance school concerts, community festivals and charity events. We'd also like to drum for your special occasion, birthday party, wedding, end of year celebration, NYE, etc. And, we love to teach others how to play the drums we play.
