Since then, she has danced all over the US and the world. One of the many highlights of her career was being personally invited to Casablanca, Morocco to perform for his Majesty King Hassan and the Royal Family at the Palace in a gala event. Soraya frequently performs at most of the Atlantic City Casino's and in the most elegant Middle Eastern weddings, major corporate theme parties, fancy hotel banquets, black tie soirees, Universities, and upscale special events - selectively. Soraya has performed with famous singers such as: Amr Diab, Assi El Hellani, Nawahl al-Zougby, Hany Shaker, Kazem al-Saher and others. She does not choose to perform in birthday parties, house parties, nightclubs or bachelor parties. Soraya is a cultural Anthropologist and enjoys educating the general public about the art and beautiful history of belly dancing and Middle Eastern culture as an aggregate. She strives to artistically, creatively and academically eradicate any misconceptions about Belly Dancing and the rich culture of the Mid-East. Soraya owns a very successful ethnic art entertainment agency called: SORAYA'S MID-EAST DANCE AND MUSIC PRODUCTIONS and produces upscale Middle Eastern weddings, Casino concerts, ethnic theme parties for major fortune 500 corporations, banquets and fancy soirees. On a personal note: Soraya loves to travel often to Europe (about 4-5 times a year) on holiday with her soul mate - her husband. He is very supportive of Soraya, although not in the arts like herself. He works as a very prominent Physician who is an extremely high ranking pharmaceutical executive that is chairman of all global medicine for the world's largest drug company. A wonderful juxtaposition of personalities mixing a cutting-edge cultural dance artist and doctor who is a true visionary in medicine. Soraya enjoys giving a plethora of belly dancing shows to other performers and does not take a commission from them. She enjoys for all of the dancers to get to keep all of what they earn! Also, Soraya donates her earnings with her belly dancing shows and worldwide DVD sales to charity. Soraya enjoys to continue to inspire other belly dancers to reach their full potential both professionally and personally like she has.
