I began dancing lessons at age 6... a year of mexican folkloric dance, that I left when I started ballet classes at age 7. I took ballet classes for 7 years and modern hip hop and jazz classes for 4 years. At age 15 I took latin rythms dance lessons for 3 years. Finally at age 18 I discovered bellydance, For 5 years I trained cabaret style bellydance and performed it as well.
My performances of fusion styles began in 2006, and my formal tribal fusion bellydance education began in 2008 with instructors such as Kami Liddle, Carolena Nericcio, Zoe Jakes, Elizabeth Strong and Reetu Patel, getting my ATS certification by FCBD director in Aug. 2009. I work as an independent dancer, choreographer and instructor, with training formats created by me like Body Conditioning Bellydance Oriented, speacialty classes, among others.
Training Schedule:
"Dance Fitness and Body Conditioning Bellydance Oriented"- This class will focus on posture, balance, body centre, basic isolated moves (hips, torso, head), arms and drills for preparing the body for bellydancing, to get the physical conditioning, and body posture that will improve your dancing but also will help you to avoid injure. Most moves are bellydance oriented, BUT NOT specialized in any style or technique, only basics; classical ballet will be strongly taught, used and applied at this class. A great class to get in shape, very energetic it'll make you sweat, but it'll also help you to gain a feminine soft and sassy body movement. Personal attention and advice is given, as well as full descriptions of the mechanics of movements.
"Fusion Bellydance Initiation"- This class is for people with bellydance experience, it is also the following class after "Dance Fitness & Body Conditioning BD Oriented". This class will focus on stretching, isolations (lots of them), pops, locks, and very fluid movements (fast & slow). Knowledge and comprehension of posture, balance, body centre, & collocation are required. Very fast class, lots of drills. Classical ballet may be used from time to time, and some ATS basics steps may be taught too. ATS is the main source, and course of the class, but it has the influence of other dance forms. Personal attention and advice is given, as well as full descriptions of the mechanics of movements, but this class would be faster than "Dance Fitness & Body Conditioning BD Oriented". NOT recommended for begginers because some concepts are taken as KNOWN. The instructor has the right to ask attendees to change to begginers class, for their own good. Very stylized dance.
